Rock Hill, South Carolina - Mr. Joseph Bechtold Pent, 88, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Agape House of Lexington, SC.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC with Reverend Matt Allison, and Dr. Mel Wines officiating. The service will be carried by Livestream at www.greenefuneralhome.net. Burial will be in Ebenezer ARP Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born in Pucallpa, Peru on April 24, 1935, Mr. Pent was the son of the late Phillip Pent, Sr. and the late Rosine Bechtold Pent. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Phillip Pent, Jr., and David Pent; his sisters, Ester Johnson, and Deborah Hudson. He retired from missionary work after over 50 of service. Among the ministries he was involved with were Movimiento Cristiano Juventud Nueva and La Montana Christian Camps. He enjoyed working with teenagers and telling them about the love of Jesus. He was a member of Ebenezer ARP Church of Rock Hill.
Mr. Pent is survived by his wife of 62 years, Clara Post Pent; three sons, Jonathan (Kimberly) Pent of Lexington, SC, Steven Eric (Yolanda) Pent of San Ramon, Costa Rica, Joseph Bechtold (Lori) Pent Jr. of Santa Ana, Costa Rica; six granddaughters, Helen (Brian) Jenkins, Christina (Drew) Kelly, Rachel (Kenneth) Twiford, Sofia Pent, Rebekah Pent, Lindsey Pent; four grandsons, David (Rachel) Pent, Samuel Pent, Ryan (Serena) Pent, Joshua Pent; a brother, Benjamin (Virginia) Pent of Michigan; seven great-grandchildren, Chiara, Eva, KK, Dawson, Haley, Hannah, and Crosby.
