Joseph Neal Pinegar

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Neal Pinegar, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and beloved friend. He passed away peacefully at home with his family and friends surrounding him on March 29th, 2025, at the age of 69.
Joe was born on September 25th, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa. He had a profound passion for coaching, a deep appreciation for motorcycles and cars, and an unwavering devotion to his family and friends. Joe was a Marine Veteran and member of the VFW. He coached several leagues starting in 1984 with Little League Baseball, AAU teams, P.A.L., Football, Basketball, and Adult Softball teams until 2008. He was our Hero!
Joe is survived by his spouse, Katherine (Wright), and his children, Shawn (Dustin), Deborah (Scott), William (Skylar), Carl (Breanna), and Jody (Tommy). 9 grandchildren BreeAnn, Bailey, Michael, Allison, Hailey, Ashley, Hannah, William Henry and 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents William Pinegar and Alyce (Good), three brothers and three sisters Della {Glenn}; Bill {Mary}; George {Sharon}; Dennis {Elaine}; Carol {Larry}; Deborah; and his grandson Bradley Martin.
April 8, 2025, memorial service is scheduled to take place at Iles Dunn's funeral homes 2121 Grand Ave. viewing at 1:30 the services starting at 3:30 p.m. Family is inviting everyone to a potluck dinner after the services at the American Legion Hall 2211 E 42nd Ave Des Moines, Iowa 50317.
