Joseph R. Powell, Jr., 84, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, while surrounded by his family at Palm Bay Hospital.
A native of Asheville, he was a son of the late Joseph R Powell Sr. and Evelyn Lee Cogdill Powell.
Mr. Powell was a U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed music, reading, traveling, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa, and his sister, Marie.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Barbara; and his children: Joey, Tammy, Kenny, Becky, Crystal, and Mark; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, 901 Aiken Road, Asheville, NC 28804.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:30 till 1:15 PM at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center is honored to serve the Powell family.
