Joseph Raczkowski Obituary

Joseph Raczkowski

Joseph "Joe" Raczkowski, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, at the age of 80 in his hometown of Jim Thorpe, where he was also born on December 21, 1944 , a son to Leonard and Mary (Miller) Raczkowski. Joe's life was marked by his unwavering kindness, gentle spirit, and profound love for his family and community.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Lucille (Smith) Raczkowski, with whom he shared a beautiful and devoted marriage. Together, they raised a family that includes their daughters, Jody Swinkowski and Kristina Duffy, both of Jim Thorpe, and their son, Joseph Raczkowski, and his wife, Roxann, also of Jim Thorpe. Joe's sister, Antoinette Yaich, and her husband, Edward, of Jim Thorpe, will remember him fondly. Joe was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Michael, Brianna, Kristopher, Marcus, Jonathan, and Paige, who will carry his legacy forward with the same warmth and compassion he exemplified.

Before retiring, Joe dedicated many years of hard work as a steelworker at Bethlehem Steel. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his contributions to the industry were significant. Joe also served his country with honor in the U.S. Army, a period of his life that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and pride.

Joe's interests were many, but he will be especially remembered for the love he had for his family and friends. His presence at family gatherings, his unwavering support, and his ability to bring joy to those around him will be deeply missed.

A graveside memorial service to honor the life of Joseph Raczkowski will be held on Saturday, March 8, at 11 AM at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Bloomingdale. This service will be a moment for family, friends, and loved ones to come together in remembrance of a man who touched so many lives with his loving, kind, and gentle nature.

Joe's journey through life was marked by the strong relationships he built and the positive impact he had on those around him. He was a man who lived his values and made the world a better place by simply being in it. His memory will be treasured and kept alive in the stories shared by those who knew him best.

As we bid farewell to Joseph Raczkowski, we do so with gratitude for the time we were privileged to share with him. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and guide us. Joe's life story is one of dedication, service, and heartfelt connections, a narrative that will be recounted with fondness and admiration by all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
