Joseph Rappa Obituary
Growing up in Monterey, Joey was a typical kid-riding his bike and playing with neighborhood friends. He attended San Carlos Church and School, where he was a standout athlete, playing multiple sports. He especially shined on the football field, serving as quarterback during his high school's 1961 championship season.
On September 5, 1964, Joe married the love of his life, Penelope "Penny" Annand. Together, they began their life in a small rental home in New Monterey. They moved to San Luis Obispo and raised three daughters: Patricia, Chris, and Diana. Joe began his career at PG&E as an apprentice electrician, Moss Landing, and worked his way up to Lead Electrician at Diablo Canyon in San Luis Obispo.
Joe was a true craftsman and problem-solver. He could fix just about anything. Joe was a man who embraced challenges, shared his talents generously, and lived with purpose and joy. His legacy lives on in the family he loved and the many lives he touched.
A funeral Mass will be held at San Carlos Church in Monterey, CA on November 14 at 10:00 a.m., with a reception to follow.

Worked with Joe at the Moss Landing Power Plant, PG&E, late 60's and early 70's and then down to Diablo for 2 years. Many great memories of Joe, and yes, he was a great person/teacher. We build many projects together. RIP Joe!

I worked for Joe for years in the Electrical Maintenance dept. at Diablo. He was a great boss. Even managed to hang out with him quite a bit at the lake, and various places. He taught me many things about being an electrician. The quote I remember the most "The only person who should never get shocked is an electrician, because you have the tools to prevent it" I will always remember that.
