Joseph P. Regan, a beloved member of the South Boston community and retired lineman for the telephone company, passed away on March 13, 2025, at the Life Care Center of Plymouth, after a long illness. Born on October 4, 1946, in Boston, MA, Joseph was raised in the city he loved and educated in catholic school and in the 9th grade transfer to Boston public schools.
Joseph was devoted to his family, taking immense joy in spending time with them and sharing stories that captured the essence of his life experiences. He is survived by his daughter Nancy Regan - Brooks and her husband Michael, and his cherished granddaughter, Hannah Regan, all of Carver. As a brother, he shared a special bond with Jean (Regan) and her husband Andrew Slobodian. Moreover, he was a proud uncle to Kelley, Aidan, and Ryan. Dear Son of the late Alice (O'Neil) and James Regan.
Throughout his life, Joseph had a passion for music and writing, often reflecting on his proudest accomplishments with fondness and humor. He will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his creative spirit, and his warm-hearted nature.
Family and friends are invited to honor Joseph's memory during the visitation on Monday March 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at WM. F. Spencer Funeral Service, located at 575 E Broadway, South Boston, MA. A Funeral Mass celebrated by Fr. Casey which will honor Joseph's life will be held the following day, March 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM in Saint Brigid's Church, 841 E Broadway, South Boston, MA.
Joseph P. Regan leaves behind a legacy of love for family and an enduring spirit that touched the lives of many. His memory will live on in the stories shared and the hearts of those who knew him. Interment in the family lot in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
