Joseph Anthony Riello, born June 26, 1958 in New York, NY, passed away on November 20, 2025. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Susan; his father, Sonny; his sister, Marion; and his brother, Stephen, who passed away at birth.
He is survived by his mother, Marie; his twin brother, Anthony, and his wife Kuppi; his brother Frankie and his wife Barbara; his brother Ricky and his wife Linda; his brother Tommy and his wife Christine; his brother Fr. Kenny; and his brother Richie Lister. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and his godson, Christopher.
Joseph’s greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his eldest, Matthew, and his wife Lexi, and their son Aiden, along with Matthew’s daughter Madison; his son Anthony and his wife Mery-Cruz, and her children Alexander and Mary; his son Joseph and his wife Melissa, and their son Hayes; his daughter Catherine and her husband Shamar, and their children Tazor, Mia, Rhys, and Olive; his son Andrew and his wife Rachael; and his youngest children, Vincent and Gianna.
Joseph was a man whose life was anchored in his love of Christ and his family. A devout Roman Catholic, he lived his faith quietly but profoundly—through compassion, humility, and the way he cared for everyone around him. His wife, children, and grandchildren were the center of his world, and he devoted himself to them with a steady, unwavering heart.
A lifelong Mets fan, he cherished life’s simple moments, always finding joy in being present for the people he loved. Joseph had an extraordinary gift for finding humor and light in every season of life. Even in difficult times, he brought comfort through his warmth, his wit, and his ability to make everyone laugh.
He walked through life with a generous spirit and a compassionate soul, teaching his children—by example—what it meant to love, to forgive, and to remain faithful. Though his absence leaves a profound void, the lessons he lived and the love he gave will endure. We take solace in knowing he rests in God’s embrace and continues to watch over us with the same gentle heart he carried throughout his life.
