Heather Anne Hunter
It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we the family announce the passing of Heather Anne Hunter after fighting for her life following a health crisis in September. She passed away on Sunday, November 16th, 2025 at the Vassar Brother's Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Heather was born in Brooklyn to Elaine Holmes. Over the years Heather held many different jobs including working for a answering service in Spring Valley, retail manager in Middletown NY, Certified Nursing Assistant at the Valley View Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Care for several years in Goshen, secretarial work at the DSS office in Liberty NY and at First Source in Lake Katrine NY, waitress at the former Carly's restaurant on Canal Street in Ellenville, and most recently as a deli associate at Peter's Market in Ellenville NY.
Heather was well liked everywhere she went; she could lighten up any room she walked into with her beauty, charming personality, knowledge and friendly demeanor. She was a hard worker and devoted mother who will always be remembered by friends and family alike for her courageous spirit and ability to never give up despite adversity in her childhood and adult life.
Heather is survived by her son, Michael Poole; her daughter, Shaienne Poole; her daughter, Noah Poole; and her youngest son, Apollo Poole, all at home in Ellenville, NY; her ex of 26 years, Jeremy Poole, of Denver, CO; her first cousin, Linda Renae Owens, and her children Alyce and Triniece of NJ, and many friends and extended family in New York and Florida, where she spent her early childhood years.
She was predeceased by her mother, Elaine Holmes in 2014; her sister, Genni Hunter Botts in 2020; her estranged father Thomas Cox in the early 2000's; as well as her aunt Linda Holmes, and her grandparents Alice Holmes and David Holmes in the early 1990's.
