Joseph S. "Joe" Riggi

Joseph S. "Joe" Riggi, age 81, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 23, 2024.
Born in Dunmore, PA, on January 19, 1943, he was a son of the late Stephen and Pauline (La Marca) Riggi. Joe proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Fort Snelling. He made his career as the owner of A & J Auto Sales in Elsmere.
Deep in his faith, Joe was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church. In his spare time, he could often be found watching football or preparing his line up for his fantasy football team. Joe was a member of Cavaliers Country Club where he loved to play golf. A friend to the community, he was a life member of Wilmington Manor Fire Company. Above all, Joe cherished the time he spent with his family. He often looked forward to attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of over 59 years, Alberta R. "Antonello" Riggi; children, Paula R. Ainsworth (Lewis M.) and Stephen A. Riggi (Dawn); brother, Santo "Butch" Riggi (Christine); and grandchildren, Lewis J. Ainsworth and Brooke E. Ainsworth.
All services will be held privately.
