Joseph Riker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruby Memorial Funeral & Cremation Services on Jan. 19, 2026.
With heavy hearts, we are announcing the passing of our beloved big brother Joseph F. Riker. He was also a dedicated uncle and an amazing great uncle. Joe was born into this world on the 26th of October, 1960, and left us on the 15th of January, 2026. He was a lifelong resident of Hillsborough Township, New Jersey. His love for the area as constant as his dedication to his family and friends. His courage was a beacon that shone brightly in the lives of those who had the privilege to know him. His determined spirit and unyielding strength were the foundation upon which he built his life. Joseph's main goal in life was to watch over his family, and he made sure to do that his entire life. With this, you could see his dedication and strength. Sadly Joe had health issues early on in life. But, he also used that strength to fight against his poor health. So, we are very thankful for the time we had with him and the age he lived up until. We have never seen someone fight so hard and long to survive. Even without complaining, he would instead check in on family and ask how we are doing. The whole family will always be so proud of his courage and strength. This is the main thing that Joe instilled in us all. We will always remember that, and carry those traits thru out of lives.

Joseph was a dedicated professional, spending his career as a mechanic in an auto shop. His supportive nature was evident in the way he always went the extra mile to ensure his customers were satisfied. His loyalty was not just limited to his work but was a trait that permeated every aspect of his life. His dedication was not just to his work, but also to his hobbies. There was no sound he loved more than the quiet hum of a boat engine or the cheering of fans as the Giants scored a touchdown. His love for fishing, boating, and football was only surpassed by his love for his family.

Joseph is survived by his loving sister Lisa Farley, his devoted brother Nicholas Riker, his supportive brother-in-law Scott Farley Sr, his cherished nephew Scott Farley Jr his adoring niece Nicole Farley, his loving great-nephews Dylan Farley and Jaden Allison. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Joan Erazo.

On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, His family has chosen a cremation for Joseph at the Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 New Jersey 27, North Brunswick Township, New Jersey, 08902.

Joseph's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was a testament to his courage, dedication, loyalty, and supportiveness. He was a beacon of strength, lighting the way for others even in his final days. You no longer will suffer Joe, may you now rest in peace for eternity. As we remember Joseph, we are reminded of quote by Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Joseph's life was indeed a success, filled with love, courage, and dedication.

Please share your memories and photos of Joseph on his memorial page. It is through these shared experiences that his spirit will continue to touch our lives, reminding us of the strength and courage that he embodied.

So sad to lose Joseph, I knew him for so many years and overall , me and Joe would spend our weekends dirt bike riding in Jackson, or hanging out at the Jersey Shore, He was always well liked and at the time was a well respected person, I will miss him dearly and I pray he is in the hands of God for forever peace, thoughts going out to his family and other friends
