Nancy Jean Riker

Nancy Jean Riker, age 75, of Hackettstown died Monday, January 19, 2026 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. Nancy was born June 27, 1950 in Paterson, NJ to the late Marvin Elwood and Jean Wilman (DeWeyer) Johnson. In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her son, Roland Peters, III.

Nancy was employed by Inserra Supermarkets, Inc., Wayne, NJ as a Deli Worker for many years before her retirement.

Nancy was a lover of animals and people. She was always grateful for all she had and all that was done for her. She was fond of cook books and had quite a collection of them. She loved to cook, travel and entertain. She was known for her kindness and sense of humor.

Nancy Jean is survived by her devoted husband: Scott Riker, four daughters, Leah Shannon, Eleanore Van Houten Bousch and husband Chris, Michele Shannon DeSena and husband Ray, Samantha Peters Perrucci, two brothers, Robert Johnson and wife Lhynn, Elwood "Woody" Johnson, two sisters, Jill and Deloris, nine grandchildren, Eileen, Kristen, Christopher, Sarah, Deliah, Lena, Peyton, Isabella, Melissa, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24 at Highlands Presbyterian Church, 3 Heath Lane, Long Valley, NJ at 4 PM. Entombment of cremains will be on Tuesday, January 27 at Laural Grove Cemetery, 295 Totowa Road, Totowa, NJ 07512.
