Joseph “Joe” Mitchell Roney, 73, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024. Joe was born May 23, 1950 in Nashville, TN to Charles Roney and Maxine Bentley Roney.
Joe loved his wife more than anything. His pride and joys were his children and his grandchildren whom he loved very much. Joe had a heart of gold. He spent most of his working life doing plumbing in the construction field. He had a love for horses and couldn’t miss the first race. He will be truly missed and never forgotten.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Roney and Maxine Bentley Roney; brothers, Sonny Roney and Johnny Roney; and sister, Charlene Ary.
Survivors include his spouse, Lisa Roney; sons, Joe Roney Jr. and Robert Roney; daughter, Nicole Jordan; grandchildren, Boone Roney, Sage Jordan, Colton Roney, Easton Jordan, and Aubreigh Roney; siblings, Sue Gill, Jenny Tucker, Frances Duncan, Barbara Wingo, Jerry Roney, Frank Roney, and Jimmy Roney.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, May 3, 2024 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior.
