In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Joseph Patrick Saenz, 47, of
Houston, Texas, departed this life on February 3, 2026, in Spring, Texas. He suffered a relentless battle with addiction. Joseph was loved by many and will no longer be defined by his addiction, but by the man he was.
During his lifetime, Joseph embodied many roles: a beloved son, grandson, stepson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, husband, stepdad, brother-in-law, son-in-law, and a devoted friend. He was profoundly loved by many whose lives he touched. Joseph was known for his dedication to perfection-he wanted things done perfectly. This drive was coupled with an insatiable desire to learn; he would study for countless hours, striving to be educated and knowledgeable across a wide range of subjects, such as sports, cooking, and hunting. When he committed to something, he was "all in," often repeating his personal mantra: "Find something and stick to it."
Joseph attended school in Klein ISD, moving through Roth Elementary, Hildebrandt Intermediate, and graduating from Klein Oak High School. Professionally, he was a top-tier gutter installer for many years, working for both The Gutterman and Jenkins Gutters. Outside of work, he enjoyed playing Men's Softball and even coached Sean's baseball team in the Klein Area, where he formed many friendships. He was a committed member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in
Houston, Texas, where he and his wife joyfully sang together in the church choir for many years.
Joseph married Angie Saenz in February 2009 after a couple of years of dating. He immediately took on the responsibility of raising her two children without hesitation. He raised them as if they were his own, and he will always be " Dad" to them. Joseph
prided himself on being the best, and that showed up in his work ethic, being a stepdad, and being a husband. Joseph held close the joy of raising Sean and Chloe, along with the quiet grief of three other babies lost too soon.
Joseph shared an extraordinary bond with his father, marked by their mutual love of watching sports, especially boxing, and their shared dedication to working hard. This deeply rooted connection was passed down from father to son, and again from Joseph to his stepchildren, Sean & Chloe. Joseph worked tirelessly to build a good life, providing his family with stability, love, and a safe place to live.
It is with profound and heartbreaking grief that his family acknowledges that, despite his relentless struggle, Joseph was surrounded by a fierce, unconditional love that he may never have truly allowed himself to feel or believe. His passing leaves an immeasurable void for many people.
Joseph leaves behind his dad, Alvaro ( Buddy) Saenz, 2 step children, Sean and Chloe Denson, his former wife, Angie Saenz, sister Patricia Windon, brother-in-law Aaron Windon, nieces Tatiana and Amani Windon, Nephew Paisley Windon, aunts Eloise Pike and husband Walter, Lupita Torres and husband Edmundo, Minie Vasquez and husband Ray, Anna Maria Saenz, uncles Ernest and wife Ann Saenz, Ram and wife Trish Saenz, Daniel and Jenny Saenz, cousins Eric and Carol Brian, Roger Pike, Sonia Garcia, Eddie, David, Edward Torres, Mark & Michael Vasquez, Lucy Canales, Cynthia Martinez, and the Aries family.
Joseph is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Guadalupe and Elvira Saenz.
Although he is no longer in this world, the impact he made on his family, especially Sean and Chloe, will always be a part of who they are. His family loved him so deeply, and he will not be forgotten.
Joseph's final resting place here on earth will be at the Denson Cemetery in Grapeland, Texas. More information about his memorial service will be coming soon.
