Joseph Schumacher Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 22, 2016.
On December 22, 2016 Joseph Schumacher passed away of natural causes. It was his wish to be cremated without a funeral service. He was fond of electronics, thus his wife Jennifer and others that were close to him have decided to create this online celebration of his life. We encourage sharing fond memories. You may now also view the obituary in the Albany Times Union at http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/timesunion-albany/obituary.aspx?n=joseph-j-schumacher&pid=183632423&fhid=22149

I knew Joe in high school and college. He was a great guy with a curious and caring mind, and had a great family. I was sad to recently learn that he had passed away. We still live near where he grew up, and I think of him and his family whenever I pass their house or the local bakery they introduced me to! I hope he was happy, and will always remember him as a kind and funny young man.

I loved my cousin "Choey" as my little brother all of his life. We shared childhood days, young adult ski trips and I so appreciated his visits to Salisbury when we moved back east. I will continue to keep him in prayer. His parents were so proud of him! I found photos of happy memories shared today. See you on the other side! Love, Cousin Kimmy, Dave & Christopher Keosian

*"Joe, you will always be my baby brother at heart. I was so proud when you
graduated from Rutgers with your engineering degree and put that big smile
on Dad's face. I can still remember your first day of kindergarten and
singing silly songs together on long car rides. Even though we were years
apart in age, we shared a special bond and a fondness for kitty cats. I
knew you were gentle and kind and will remember your smile. As your
Godmother, I will be praying for you (even though you may not like that).
That's what big sisters do!!! May you rest peacefully." Love you always
Carolyn

Joe was (for a big part of my childhood) like an uncle to me. While my parents hung out my brother and I would play with the cats. He funded my first summer job. Not that I think I accomplished much but he always made me feel like I had done a lot. I remember being so fond of him and I will always, always hold those memories close to my heart. I will miss you. Rest In Peace.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this difficult time. I remember may times with Joe in both the computer room at Hill Center at Rutgers and in the bars of New Brunswick blowing off steam. He was a great guy. John Weber

Joe, you will be remembered for the times together (including a trip to AZ), the skydiving experience, and your thorough enjoyment of the mud pond at our housewarming party!
