Joseph F. Scibetta Jr.

Joseph F. Scibetta, Jr., 85 of Lodi passed away on September 24, 2023. Born in Hackensack, he was a life-long resident of Lodi. He was a member of the United States Army National Guard. Before retiring Joe was an entrepreneur and he was Co-owner and operator of Sun Fun in Little Ferry, Ramsey, Eatontown and Pompton Plains and owner of the restaurant Carisma in Little Ferry. In 1982 he was co-owner and creator of the legendary night club Chicago's in Lodi and Temptations Night Club in Seaside Heights in 1981. In 1992 Joe then opened Avanti Night Club in Teaneck He was then owner and operator of Wondergrass Playground Surfaces in Lodi. Joe was a parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church in Lodi. Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Margaruite Scibetta, Sr., and a brother Andrew Scibetta. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis (nee Vasile) Scibetta. Devoted father of Andrea Rutkowski and husband Mark of Ringwood, Joseph Scibetta, III of Park Ridge and Barabara Aiosa and husband Peter of Elmwood Park. Loving grandfather of Amanda, Brielle, Nicole, Petey, Jake, Lexy, Hannah, Emmy and eight great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to an attend a Chapel Service on Thursday 7:00 pm at Di Chiara Funeral Home, 300 Main St. Private cremation to follow Visitation Thursday 4:00-8:00 pm.
