Joseph Sebastiano Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nazare Memorial Home, Inc. - Lyndhurst on Apr. 23, 2025.
Joseph Sebastiano, age 61, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Montclair and raised in Bloomfield, Joe spent most of his life in the place he called home.
Joe found great pride and joy in his work - first with FedEx and later as a Maintenance Engineer at Extended Stay America in East Rutherford. He was known for his quick wit, warm smile, and the way he could bring light and laughter into any room. His sense of humor offered comfort during life's toughest moments, and his presence was a gift to everyone lucky enough to know him.
A natural athlete, Joe had a lifelong love for sports. He enjoyed playing softball, baseball, and soccer, and was a passionate fan of the New York Jets, the Yankees, and Notre Dame. But above all, Joe's heart belonged to his family and friends. His kindness, loyalty, and easygoing charm left a lasting mark on everyone he met.
Joe was predeceased by his father, Americo Sebastiano. He is survived by his cherished children, Nicolas Rubinetti-Sebastiano, Justine Rubinetti-Sebastiano (Krista), and Samantha Freeman (Tommy); his mother, Patricia Sebastiano; his loving siblings, Marie Marucci (Donato), Michael Sebastiano (JoAnn), JoAnn Atwell (Peter), and Vincent Sebastiano (Christine); and his adoring nieces and nephews: Zachary Sebastiano (Toni), Matthew Marucci (Brooke), Alexa McKee (Brandon), Lauren Atwell, Patrick Marucci, Ava Sebastiano, and Hannah Sebastiano. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless treasured friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance at Nazare Memorial Home, 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 6PM to 8PM. Funeral service will begin at 7:30PM. Private cremation to follow. Condolences may be shared on our tribute wall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wings of Eagles Ranch therapeutic horseback riding program, (wingsofeaglesranch.org), in Concord, NC are encouraged.
Joe's spirit, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
