Joseph Simonetti

Joseph Simonetti, 79, of Willowbrook, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026. Born on October 6, 1946, he was the beloved son of Nick and Angie Simonetti.

Joseph graduated from Tilden High School and continued his education at ITT Technical Institute. He dedicated 25 years of service to the Chicago Transit Authority. Joseph took great pride in his work with his own business, JCS and Associates.

On April 17, 1971, he married the love of his life, Kathleen (nee Krause) Simonetti, and they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage.

Joseph was a devoted father to Karen Yard (Shane Yard) and Joseph Simonetti, a loving brother to Pamela Thullen, and a proud "Papa" to his four cherished grandchildren: Emma Yard, Anna Yard, Sam Simonetti, and Gianna Simonetti, who were the greatest joy of his life.

Joseph was an honorable veteran of the United States Navy. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 80, participated in an investment club, enjoyed Tuesday morning breakfast with friends, and loved vacationing with family and friends.

Joseph will be remembered for his deep love of family, strong work ethic, and generous spirit.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 3 - 8 pm at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave, Darien. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 8404 S. Cass Ave, Darien. Please meet at the church at 9:45 am.
