Joseph J. Sinkler

Joseph J. Sinkler, age 82, of Antigo, died on June 6, 2025 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born on February 7, 1943 in Antigo, a son of Leonard and Catherine (Maciora) Sinkler. He married his wife of 53 years, Charlotte Kunze, on October 19, 1968 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in the Town of Wausau. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2022.
He was a graduate of Antigo High School graduated in 1961. Joe proudly served the Army National Guard.
Known as "Potato Joe" he was a potato and hobby farmer for many years. Mr. Sinkler worked for Bula and also Baginski Potato Farms and later at Frost Veneer Mill in Antigo for 7 years. He had a long career as a machine operator at Wausau Papers where he worked for 40 years until his retirement in 2010.
Joe was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the Men's Club. He was also a member of the Anderson-Sather American Legion Post 524, White Lake.
He enjoyed hunting and trapping.
Survivors include two daughters, Christina (Jeremy) Roberts of White Lake and Cassandra Brown of Antigo; three sons, Nicholas (Sarah) Sinkler of Antigo, Gary (Anne) Sinkler of Juneau, and Joseph R (Alissa) Sinkler of Antigo; four grandchildren, Ty, Kaden, and Keira Roberts, and Ashlyn Brown; and a sister, Mary (Paul) Kowalski of Antigo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents; he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Christopher Brown; three sisters, Sophie (John) Dawidowich, Angeline (Charles) Bula and Agnes Sinkler; and a brother, Tom (Sharon) Sinkler.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12 at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Dave Karolus officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace. Cemetery, where the White Lake Veterans will provide Military Honors.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
