Joseph Sisco Obituary
Born in New York, NY, Deacon Joe was a lifelong Little Falls resident. Currently, he was a Theology teacher at St. Joseph's Regional High School in Montvale. Previously, he was the Principal at the former Don Bosco Technical High School of Paterson; the Vice Principal at the former Bishop Ahr High School; and a teacher at Mary Help of Christians in North Haledon and the former St. Mary's High School in Elizabeth.
He was a Past Grand Knight and former District Deputy with Our Lady of the Highway Council #3835, Knights of Columbus; Chaplain of the Little Falls Fire and Police Departments; and served as a Councilman for the Township of Little Falls for eight years.
While at St. Joseph's, he served in Campus Ministry, Social Outreach and was responsible for starting the first UNICO High School Chapter, the 3rd largest in the country.
He was ordained a Deacon in the Diocese of Paterson in June of 1989. He earned his BA in Pre-Law from William Paterson University and his MA in Theology from Seton Hall University.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Angela (nee De Caro) Sisco.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years the former Phyllis Stabile; his daughter, Jennifer Pekosz and her husband, Mark of Dayton, NJ; his two grandsons, Oren and Harrison; and his brother, Robert Sisco and his wife, Susan of Dade City, FL.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 2-6 pm at Holy Angels RC Church, 465 Main St., Little Falls. Funeral will be 12:00 pm Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the Church. Committal to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Memorial Contributions to either Holy Angels RC Church, 465 Main St., Little Falls, NJ or Little Falls Fire Department, 225 Main Street, Little Falls, NJ would be preferred.
