Joseph Lanny Snyder, 38, of Pleasantville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
Joe was born on June 13, 1987, in Oil City to Kevin and Tammi Whitman Snyder. He married Caitlin D. Brogan on May 25, 2012.
He was a graduate of Titusville High School, Class of 2006, and attended Slippery Rock University. While in high school, Joe was a member of the varsity football, wrestling, and baseball teams.
Joe worked in the woods alongside his brother, Justin, for Snyder Bros Logging.
He was a member of the Monday night golf league at Green Acres, the Wednesday and Friday night bowling leagues at Lin Van Lanes, and a volunteer assistant coach for the Titusville High School and youth wrestling teams.
He was a loving husband, a proud father, and a kind-hearted person to everyone he met. He loved coaching and was dedicated to all his athletes. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, bowler, and loved Penn State wrestling and football, and had a deep-seated hatred for Ohio State.
Joe is survived by his wife Caitlin of Pleasantville; his two children, Cael and Annie Snyder of Pleasantville; his parents, Kevin and Tammi Snyder of Pleasantville; his brother, Justin Snyder and wife Kristen of Pleasantville; his parental grandfather Rulin "Jeff" Snyder of Titusville; maternal grandparents, Lanny and Ardelle Whitman of Titusville; his mother and father-in-law, David and Lynda Brogan of Pittsburgh; a sister-in-law, Bevin Orr and husband Aric of Pittsburgh, a brother-in-law Ethan Brogan-Mecham and wife Kandace of Arizona; his nephew and nieces, Jayden and Brinlee "B" Snyder, and Baylee Orr, Porter, Atticus, and Penelope Mecham-Brogan; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Pauline T. Snyder, and his uncle, Craig Snyder.
Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc., 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Further visitation will be held on Tuesday at Bethel United Methodist Church from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be conducted with Pastor Jake Ongley, officiating.
