Joseph Frank Sojka, affectionately known as Joe to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on the 6th of August, 2025, at his home in Hickory Hills, Illinois. Born on the 1st of August, 1930, in Krauszów, Poland, Joe lived a full and vibrant life that spanned 95 years, characterized by his creative spirit, loving nature, and passionate dedication to his family and work.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lottie (nee Potoczak), who was the cornerstone of his life. Together, they built a beautiful family, including their sons Robert (Amy) and John (Angela), and were blessed with the joy of six grandchildren. Jake, Christopher, Katelyn, Kaylee, Declan, and Michael. Joe was a patriarch in the truest sense, providing unwavering support and love to his family, instilling in them the values of hard work and compassion that he himself embodied.

For 40 years, Joe dedicated his career to Joslyn Manufacturing, where his work ethic and expertise were greatly valued. His commitment to excellence and his ability to work with precision earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

A man of many talents, Joe had a particular affinity for working with his hands. He was an accomplished watch repairman, a skill that required patience, steadiness, and an eye for detail. His home was a testament to his construction skills, with many projects completed over the years, leaving a legacy of his craftsmanship for his family to cherish.

Some of Joe's happiest moments were spent outdoors, in the serenity of his garden. He took great pride in caring for his yearly flowers, which brought beauty to his home and joy to his friends and family who visited.

Joe was the epitome of hard work, love, and passion. His inventive spirit was evident in everything he did, from the delicate watches he repaired, to his interest in photography and passion for the violin. His love was a constant, gentle force that enveloped his family, and his passion for life was infectious, inspiring those around him to pursue their own dreams with vigor.

Joseph Frank Sojka's journey was one marked by the deep impressions he left on the hearts of those who knew him. His memory will be treasured and kept alive through the stories shared by his family and friends, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness. Joe's legacy is one of love, dedication, and a life well-lived. He will be profoundly missed, but the memories he created will be a comfort to all who were privileged to know this remarkable man.
