Passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024, at age 81. Beloved husband of the late Arlene. Loving father of Matt (Ginny) Stockinger, Sharon Stockinger, Marilyn (Jeff) Shurkoff, and the late Mark Stockinger. Proud grandfather of Stephen, Jessie, and Kevin Stockinger, and Samantha and Madi Shurkoff. Great-grandfather of Maggie Stockinger. Brother of Ruth (late Roger) Fischer and the late Maxine Berefsky. Brother-in-law of Joyce (late Haven) Livingston, the late Elaine (late George) Schubert, the late Jean (late Joseph) Hulman and Alvin (late Katy) Glasenapp. Also loved by other family and friends.
Joseph served in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from Nathan Hale High School and married his high school sweetheart. In 1969 he started work as a police officer for the West Allis Police Department until his retirement in 1996. After retirement he worked part time for Krause funeral home. The family would like to thank Heritage Senior Living in Muskego for the care they gave to Joe in his final years.
Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM. Service at 10:30 AM and a procession to Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
