Joe is survived by his children, Laura and Carrie Thiessen, his sister, Karen Murphy, his former wife, Fran Thiessen, and his partner, Agnes Crooks.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Route 9, Forked River. A repass will follow at Kristy's at 562 Rt. 9, Waretown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, please support Caregiver Canines in Joseph's memory. This organization organizes visiting therapy dog services for seniors in south Jersey. https://caregivervolunteers.org/get-help/caregiver-canines/

Joe was the captain of the BHS football team I played on in 1963. He was a great captain, a good football player and a good guy. I'm very sad to learn of his passing. My condolences go out to his family.
