Joseph Roland Threadgill passed away on November 7, 2025, in Nashville, TN surrounded by his family. Joseph was born to Katie Mae and Joseph Johnson Threadgill in Freeport, Illinois on December 13, 1965.
Joseph attended Freeport High School and graduated in 1984. He was known for his love of sports, particularly football, and enjoyed fishing whenever he could find the time. Joseph cherished spending time with his family and meeting up with old friends. He attended Ebenezer Community Church of Nashville TN where the Rev Sonny Lyons is Pastor.
Joseph leaves to cherish many fond memories to his six children, Prentice, Rashad, Staphon, Jeremiah, Joshua, and “daddy girl” Juliana (all from Nashville TN), his grand-daughter Tamia (Nashville), his life partner of 18 years Julia Crawford (also of Nashville).
Joseph also leaves his loving father Deacon Joe Threadgill Sr, (Freeport), sisters Lori Threadgill (Indiana) and Seleana Threadgill (Rockford), a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Special friend and brother Jason “Jay” Tate and good friend Tonnetta Johnson both of Nashville TN.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Azzie Lee Sanford who passed Saturday November 1, 2025 and is being laid to rest today (November 15, 2025) in Batesville Mississippi, his mother Mrs. Katie M Threadgill, niece Kaja Inez Threadgill, and nephew Calvin Threadgill.
Joseph will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
