Joseph Herman Walker

Joseph Herman "Joe" Walker, passed away on Tuesday, December 9th in Corinth, Mississippi. He was a cherished husband, a proud veteran, a skilled tradesman, and a man who lived on his own terms.
Born on June 25, 1969, in Searcy, Arkansas, to the late Homer and Jackie Walker, Joe grew up in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. As a young man, he demonstrated his deep sense of loyalty and care by tending to his ailing father. In 1990, he answered the call of duty, joining the United States Navy. He served with honor until his discharge in 1994, earning the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Award.
After his military service, Joe carried his dedication to hard work into a successful career as a journeyman union millwright. He took immense pride in a job well done, a skill that took him to worksites across the country.
Despite his unwavering work ethic, Joe also knew how to take it easy. He was a devout Auburn football fan, a lover of good music, enjoyed his bourbon neat and his Jack with Coke, and was never one to turn down an opportunity to relax with friends and family. One of his love languages was cooking and sharing food with others-even if Joe didn't really like you, you never went hungry around him. True to his nature, he was wonderfully stubborn yet deeply loving, a man of strong opinions (which he never sugarcoated) and an even stronger spirit.
An avid adventurer, Joe loved exploring America's natural wonders and was on a personal mission to collect a commemorative stamp from every National Park. Since 2013, his home has been in Brighton with his wife, Stephanie Walker, but they were truly at home while creating memories together during their travels across the country.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Walker; his son, Austin Walker, and those he loved as his own: Blair Caviness (Kyle), Steven Caviness (Heather), and their children, who knew Joe as their "Joe Poppy": Brantley, Mackenzie, Hunter; and Ashton Caviness. He also leaves behind six beloved pets and an extended family of loving friends and Navy brothers.
