He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Julia Mae Pierre Walker; 12 children: Audrey M. Walker-Lott, Joseph D. Walker, Jr., Barbara A. Walker-Carter, Josie M. Walker, Belinda Walker, Judith A. Walker, and William S. Walker (Scherrie Walker), Gloria Collins (Eddie Collins), Marcus Sims, Leroy Flowers, Eric C. Ennis, and Paul E. Ennis (Delores Ennis); one sister-in-law, Bobbie Turner-Pierre; 30 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Walker and Lorenza Odrick-Carter; his stepfather, Riley Carter; his son, Leroy Flowers; and his daughter, Belinda M. Walker.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Word of Truth New Life Center, 57360 CPL Herman Brown Jr. Street, Bayou Goula, LA 70788, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Word of Truth New Life Center Cemetery. Services entrusted to Hall Davis and Son Funeral Services.
