Joseph Wenning Walsh, age 92, died peacefully on April 7, 2015 at the Newfield House Nursing Home in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of Mary Ellen (Gallant) Walsh of Plymouth. Born in Newton, MA on Sept. 20, 1922, he was a son of the late Valentine S. and Elizabeth C. (Wenning) Walsh. He was educated in Newton and was a graduate of Newton High School, Class of 1940.Following his high school education, Mr. Walsh entered the US Navy where he proudly served during World War II as a commander. He furthered his education by graduating from Mass Maritime and Boston University where he earned his degree in Business. For most of his life Mr. Walsh worked as a Marine engineer for Texaco, retiring at age 65. He moved to Plymouth in 1983, previously residing in Duxbury. He enjoyed sailing, golfing, and was a member of the NRA as well as the Plymouth Lions Club. He was a communicant of St. Bonaventure's Church in Manomet. Besides leaving his wife Mary Ellen (Gallant) Walsh, he was the loving father of Karen Luckey and her partner Michael Ohlstein of Old Brookville, NY, Suzanne Tjoelker-Giragosian and her husband Rev. Richard Giragosian of Pembroke, Sara Edwards and her husband John of Randolph, VT, Mary Kuemmeth and Cathy Griffin, Joseph Pinzino, Timothy Pinzino and his wife Kenee, John Pinzino and his wife Jennifer all of Plymouth. He was beloved brother of his twin the late John H. Walsh of FL and Stephen Walsh of Puerto Rico. He was the cherished grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 3. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Friday, April 10th at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth from 9 A.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Bonaventure's Church, State Rd, (Manomet) Plymouth at 11:00 a.m. Private Interment will take place in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to Cranberry Hospice, Inc., 36 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth, MA 02360 or St. Bonaventure's Church Building Fund, PO Box 996, Manomet, MA 02345,
