It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph "Moe" Wansor Sr., age 73, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world surrounded by the love of his family.

Born with a heart full of humor and warmth, Moe lived a life rooted in joy, family, and simple pleasures. A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Sundays were sacred and reserved for football. His love for the game was only matched by his passion for fishing, a hobby he cherished most when shared with his children and grandchildren by his side.

For 56 beautiful years, Moe was the devoted husband of Shirley (Burnett) Wansor, the love of his life and best friend. Together, they built a wonderful, loving, and large family.

Moe had a special gift for making people laugh and feel at home. At every family gathering, his singing of George Jones classics was a highlight, and you could always catch him toe-tapping along to the music. His jokes filled the room with laughter, and his playful spirit brought joy that stitched generations together.

More than anything, Moe adored his family. He was the proud father of five children: Tracy (Tim) Wansor-Cornelious, Stacy (Dave) Wansor Miller, Joseph (Jennie) Wansor Jr., Kelly (Ronald) Pickard, and John Wansor Sr. His love for them was unwavering, and he was a hero in each of their lives. That legacy of love grew as he became a devoted grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Moe is also survived by his two loving sisters, Laura (Jerry) Porterfield and Sandy (Bob) Newton, who shared in a lifetime of memories and laughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Wansor and Jennie (Korab) Wansor; his siblings, Margie Shebeck, Gloria Kettering, James Wansor, and George "Sonny" Wansor; a son-in-law Tim Cornelious; and a daughter-in-law Michelle Kiester.

Moe's memory will live on in the stories told among family, in the sound of a George Jones song drifting through the air, and during every Steelers Sunday. He was truly one of a kind, and he will be missed beyond measure.

A private celebration of life will be held with close family, just as Moe would've wanted, surrounded by the people he loved, with laughter in the air and country music playing in the background.
