Joseph Wanyo Obituary
Joseph Robert "Joe" Wanyo of Larksville passed away Dec. 14, 2025, at the age of 90, following a brief illness.
Joe is survived by his wife of 70 years, Gladys; a daughter, Deborah; a son, Robert; a son-in-law, John Lokuta; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Stacey, and Jason Lokuta; a great-grandson, Oliver; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his nine older siblings.
Born March 15, 1935, Joe was a 1954 graduate of Plymouth High School. After nearly 20 years working at the Faith Shoe Factory, he embarked on a new career path alongside his wife, Gladys. Together, they owned and managed the Half Circle Barbecue in Hanover Township for more than 50 years, from 1972 until its closing upon their retirement in 2024.
Joe enjoyed a life well-lived and well-traveled. He was especially fond of Las Vegas, which he and Gladys visited numerous times over the decades, dating back to the city's heyday.
A private funeral will be held with family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Andrew Strish Funeral Home, Larksville.

Always, enjoyed you and Joe over the years shopping with me, when I worked as a jeweler.
