Joseph D. Wells

WELLS, Joseph D. "Joe" - Passed away February 14, 2012. Mr. Wells was a long time resident of Alabama. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean, his parents, S.B. and Rosalie Wells, his sisters, Lily Rose Dowdey, Christine Butler; brothers, Hiram Wells and his twin brother, William B. Wells. He is survived by his children, Mark Wells (Amanda) of Bloomington, IL, daughters, Ruth (Herb) Peck of Huntersville, NC, Beth Thompson of Franklin, TN, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. Mr. Wells worked as a salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for 32 years. He was a Veteran of World War II serving his country in the Air Force during the Italian Campaign. He and his twin brother were together during the War. Mr. Wells served as a deacon at Central Church of Christ, Birmingham and an elder at Riverchase Church of Christ in Hoover. Visitation will be at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home Thursday, February 16, 4-7 p.m. and at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL on Friday, February 17th, 4-7 p.m. with the funeral service Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
