Joseph F. West, 40, of Indianapolis, Indiana, was called home on December 22, 2023. He was born in Indianapolis, on December 4, 1983, to parents David and Lisa West.
Growing up, Joseph was very strong-willed and that was further proven in his strength and perseverance while recovering from a brainstem AVM rupture causing a stroke in 2016. Joe was a music lover and enjoyed both playing and listening; playing both the trumpet and guitar. Family was extremely important to Joe, and he was at his happiest when his daughter, Kayleigh, was happy. He was devoted to the Lord and steadfast in his faith. His final act of service to others was organ donation.
Joe is survived by his parents; his loving wife, Diane; daughter Kayleigh West, granddaughter Celeste, siblings Jeremiah (Jessica) West, Jennifer (Eliseo) Modesto, Joshua (Brooke) West, Jessica (Brian) Ashmore and several nieces and nephews who will miss him tremendously.
A Visitation for Joe will be held on Friday, December 29th, from 12:30 to 2:30, with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:30, at Our Lady of Peace Chapel, 9001 Haverstick Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46240. Joe’s final resting place will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution in Joe’s memory to a stroke research or stroke survivor’s group.
