Joseph Henry "Joey" Weynand

Joseph Henry "Joey" Weynand, of Castroville passed away November 17, 2024 at the age of 73. He was born January 4, 1951 in Uvalde, Texas to Weldon Leo Weynand and Betty Joy Sampier Weynand.
Joey graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1969. While in high school, he won State for pole vaulting. On February 15, 1975, Joey married Mary Ellen "Tootie" Rock at St. John Catholic Church. They were blessed with nearly fifty years of marriage. Joey retired after a forty-nine-year career at AT&T. He spent his time at his ranch south of D'Hanis hunting with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Tootie Weynand; children, Brent Weynand of Aurora, Colorado, Bryan Weynand (Elizabeth) of Castroville, Vance Weynand (Alaina) of San Antonio, Nathan Weynand (Renee) of Castroville, and Joanne Perry (Matt) of Keller; grandchildren, Logan Weynand, Victoria Weynand, Alexandria Weynand, Elizabeth Weynand, Adalida Weynand, Cason Ridgeway, Brylee Weynand, Brenden Weynand, and Kipton Perry; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
Joey was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Douglas Weynand and Weldon L. Weynand, Jr.; and his sister, Becky Sowell (Neil); and his parents-in-law, Ferd J. Rock Jr. and Mary Anne Finger Rock.
Visitation will be Friday, November 22, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in D'Hanis, Texas.
Memorials may be made in Joey's memory to the Bereavement Committee at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis or to the charity of your choice.
