Joseph Leroy Williams, age 98, of Parma Heights, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026.
Born on May 6, 1927, in Camden, New Jersey, Joe lived a long and meaningful life marked by service, family, and quiet strength. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, an experience that shaped his lifelong values of duty, resilience, and patriotism. Following his military service, Joe graduated from Villanova University and went on to build a successful career selling business forms, later opening and operating his own business.
In his later years, Joe and his wife, Kathryn, enjoyed traveling throughout the country together. He was also deeply involved in his church and found great fulfillment in being a Eucharistic Minister and making rosaries.Those who knew Joe will remember his generous spirit, quick wit, and his captivating ability to recount stories from his past. His legacy lives on through the generations he helped raise and the values he faithfully passed down.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathryn Williams, also a veteran, with whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage.
He is survived by his children, Joseph (Rena) Williams, Maryann (Ron) Heininger, and Beth (David) Liska; his grandchildren, Heather (James) Hayes, Holly (Bob) Recker, Mike (Nicole) Liska, and Ashley (Ryan) Liska; and his great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Abigail, Alyssa, and Thomas. Joe will be remembered as a faithful, hardworking, and devoted man who lived with humility and integrity.
The family will receive friends and family on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Zabor Funeral Home, 5680 Pearl Rd, Parma, OH 44129, from 8:00 am - 9:00 am. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am at St. Bridget of Kildare Parish, 5620 Hauserman Rd, Parma, OH 44130 followed by a graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery.
