Joseph Wiluth Obituary

Published by Harder Funeral Home - Brookfield on Jun. 23, 2017.
Joseph Wiluth, 87 of Brookfield, WI entered eternal life on Friday June 23, 2017 in the loving care of his family. Joseph was born on December 22, 1929 in Almamellek, Hungary, the son of Elizabeth (Kessler) and John Wiluth. After miraculously surviving World War II, Joe fled his homeland with his mother and sister Maria. Just 1 year after coming to Milwaukee he met the love of his life, Theresa Wink, at an Old Heidelberg German dance. At age 23 he married Theresa on September 27, 1952 in Milwaukee. This vibrant couple was blessed with 64 years of marriage and raised their loving son John and two adoring daughters, Elizabeth and Mary Jo. Joseph loved his family. He was a family man first and foremost. He loved his wife Theresa’s cooking and spending time with his loved ones. Extremely hard working, he came to this country with nothing. However, he created a life for himself in the masonry trade and built his own business, Hansen and Wiluth Mason and Cement Contractors, where he worked until he retired at age 65. He enjoyed trips up north with family, hunting, fishing, dancing with his girls, making people laugh, and playing the accordion and harmonica. His grandchildren were always excited to go to Opa’s to listen to his old world stories stories and music. Joseph and Theresa also enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit with friends and family, fishing and going on cruises with friends. His faith being steadfast and strong, Joe was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Words cannot describe what a charismatic man and endearing father he was. Joseph enjoyed all life had to offer and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Joseph is survived by his son John (Sue) Wiluth, daughter Elizabeth (Randy) Nickerson, daughter Mary Jo (Chris) Sargent, 6 grandchildren Ellery “Sweetie”, William, Matthew (Sara), David (Jennie), Jamie (Michelle), Kyle and 9 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends. Brother of Maria (Alfons) Pichler. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Brookfield, WI on Wednesday June 28, 2017 at 12:30 PM. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 10:30 AM until the time of mass.

Such a long time ago. I've only known the family through my Mom [Theresa Becker Jalsovec] who was 1st cousin with Resi. The last time I saw them I was maybe 10 years old. Or we came to Milwaukee to visit Nanci Pesl and her husband when I was a bit older. My deepest sympathies to all the family especially to Tante Resi. [von Wali]

Truly some of the best years of my life! Some of our most memorable times were visiting with both of you when we had the opportunity. May God be with you in this time of need.
