Joseph Mickwell Yonce, 74, of Corbin Kentucky, passed away August, 23, 2024.
Joseph Mickwell Yonce was born May 11, 1950 to Eve Roberts.
Joseph was a 1968 graduate of Corbin High School. After high school he attended Sue Bennett College before proudly serving country in the US Army. He met his wife Judy and they were married while in service. He later transitioned to the Kentucky National Guard when they settled in Corbin. Joseph and Judy were the first married couple in the Kentucky National Guard. During this time Joseph finished his degree and was a 1979 graduate of Cumberland College. Joseph was employed at Whayne Supply where he retired after 45 years of service. He was loved and admired by his coworkers and many became family to him. After retirement he moved to Ohio to be closer to family. Joseph enjoyed spending time working on various projects in his garage, as well as helping Jamey with all of Mackenzie’s crazy projects. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them as they grew and took great joy in seeing them pursue their dreams.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years Judy K Lewis Yonce, his grandmother Virnia Yonce, grandfather Robert Yonce and mother Eve Roberts.
Joseph will be deeply missed by his family. He leaves behind his children, Jamey E Yonce, (Mackenzie Yonce), Joni M Keith (Brian Keith), his grandchildren, Tanisha Webb, Kimberly Petrey, Katelyn Rizzuti, Zackary Keith, Jordan Yonce, Payton Yonce, Grayson Yonce and his brother Glen Roberts (Kitty Roberts).
Visitation will be on August 31st, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane. Powell. Joseph will later be cremated and buried beside his wife, Judy Kay Lewis Yonce in Sevierville, Tennessee at a later date.
