Joseph R. Zack

Joseph R. Zack, 89, of Morristown, NJ, passed away on April 21, 2023, with his loving family by his side.
A Funeral Mass will be offered in celebration of his life on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 10:30 am in St.
Aloysius Church, 219 Bloomfield Ave., Caldwell, NJ, immediately followed by the interment in
Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair, NJ.
Joseph was born in Bloomfield, NJ and has resided in Morristown since 1970. He received his B.S. from
Seton Hall University followed by his M.B.A. from New York University before embarking on a long and
distinguished career with Schering-Plough Corp. in Bloomfield. He started in the mailroom in 1951
before becoming a pioneer in computer science with the company, retiring in 1990 after 39 years of
service. Joe also served honorably in the United States Army from 1953-1955.
A loyal family man, Joe was devoted to his wife of 62 years, Adele, and his daughter Elizabeth. He loved
the beach and was always looking to catch a good wave and bodysurf in Barnegat Light, NJ. Joe was an
avid tennis player for years, and he especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball.
Joe is the beloved husband of Adele R. Mende Zack; loving father of daughter Elizabeth Myers and her
husband Thomas, and son Stephen Joseph Zack; and cherished grandfather of John David Myers, Andrew
Joseph Myers, and Thomas Wayne Myers, Jr. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Joseph A. and Barbara
Zack, and his siblings, Doris Kuhl and William Zack.
