Josephine Ann Curry, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Josephine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, Mamaw, grandma, and friend. She was a nurturing mother figure to all, often caring for other children while raising her own. Josephine was outgoing entrepreneur often owning multiple bars with her husband. The family she created at the Central Beer Depot always held a special place in her heart. Josephine had a passion for playing darts and BINGO. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her precious grandchildren making everlasting memories. Josephine will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
She was born on July 7, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky to Owen and Dorothy (Grimes) Hogan. She is preceded in death by her father, Owen Hogan; mother, Dorothy Hogan; daughter, Colleen Carroll; husband, George Curry; and six siblings.
Josephine is survived by her loving family, sons, Shawn (Michelle Snodgrass) Carroll, James Carroll; daughter, Jodie Navarijo; grandchildren, Mark Wilson, Jr., Shawn Timothy Lee Bynum, Alexis Edelen, Sara Carroll, Bethany Oaks, Stefon Peterson, Casey Richardson, Jose Cortez and Alex Toohey; great-grandchildren, Remington Bynum, Phoenix Bynum, Bre'ella Bowles and Jayceon Smith; seven siblings; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 25, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway.
The family requests that contributions in Josephine’s memory be made to Hosparus.
