Josephine Parfait, 86, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024 in Houma, LA.

Ms. Parfait was born in Dulac, LA to Elda Lodrique and Nicholas Gregoire. Her favorite hobby was cooking for people and making sure that when you came to her home you had plenty to eat. You would always leave stuffed. One of her favorite sayings was “eating is the joy of living”. She also loved to quilt.

Ms. Parfait felt that God gave her the gift of making rosaries to give to people. She brought every rosary to church to have them blessed before giving them away. Ms. Parfait donated rosaries to the St. Joseph Altar and many Catholic Church festivals. She had an article that ran in the Gulf Pine Catholic, she received recognition in a magazine in Dublin, Ireland and she also received a letter of recognition from Pope Francis for making thousands of rosaries and donating them. Ms. Parfait has one of her pecan rosaries hanging in the Vatican. To date, she has made over 5,000 rosaries.

Ms. Parfait loved all of her family and friends. She was a devoted Catholic who had strong faith in God and loved her church. She will be missed by all those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Autry Thibodeaux; her parents; her children, Kirk Thibodeaux and Burke Thibodeaux; and her siblings, Morris Gregoire, Noris Gregoire, Virginia Dardar, Alice Gregoire, Lillian Rodrigue and Eva Gregoire.

Ms. Parfait’s survivors include her daughter, Beulah Thibodeaux; her granddaughter, Nicole Thibodeaux Carco; her great-granddaughter, Lana Thibodeaux Baragar; her siblings, Cecile Gregoire, Nora Smith, Peggy Pontiff, Theresa Solet, Nicolas Gregoire and Marie Gregoire; and her cat, Tiger Lady.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
