Josephine F. Robinson, affectionately known as Jo, passed away on the 15th of September, 2025, at her home in Salisbury, Maryland. Born on the 16th of March, 1946, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Jo's journey through life was marked by her loving spirit, kindness, and friendly demeanor that touched the lives of everyone she met.
Jo graduated from Kenwood High School, where she was known for her bright smile and eagerness to lend a helping hand. She carried these traits into her professional life, where she spent many years as a dedicated Sales Associate at Boscov's. Jo's warmth and genuine interest in people made her not just a favorite among customers but also a beloved colleague.
Jo is lovingly remembered by her husband, Richard Robinson Jr.; her daughter, Aliceson Newton and son-in-law James Newton; her son, Richard Robinson III and daughter in law Wanda Bishop; and her cherished and beloved granddaughter, Gracelyn Newton. Jo is also survived by her sister, Pam Chambers-Seibert and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie and Joseph Chambers, and her brother, Harold Chambers.
Jo's interests were as unique as they were endearing. An avid reader, she found solace and joy in the pages of books, which were her constant companions. Her pets, especially her beloved cats, were a source of endless delight and reflected her nurturing soul.
Those who knew Jo would attest that the words 'loving,' 'kind,' and 'friendly' only begin to describe the incredible woman she was. Her presence was a gift, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege to know her. Jo's legacy is one of compassion and friendship, a legacy that will undoubtedly continue to influence those she has left behind.
Jo met no stranger for everyone she met loved her for her kindness. Jo was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be held at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, MD, on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 2 pm.
