Josephine M. Sanfilippo (née Sisino), age 100, of Fort Lee, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Born and raised in New York City and Jersey City, Josephine built a long and fulfilling life surrounded by family, friends, and community. She enjoyed a rewarding 31-year career with Metropolitan Life Insurance, where she worked as a bookkeeper and oversaw the daily operations of the office with dedication and care.
Josephine lived life with joy and enthusiasm. She loved traveling, dancing, and socializing with her many friends. Family dinners and gatherings brought her the greatest happiness, and she treasured every moment spent together. Creative at heart, she enjoyed arts and crafts and was a beloved presence at the Fort Lee Senior Activity Center, where she formed lasting friendships.
She will be forever cherished as the dear aunt of Barbara J. Vignola and the late Lorraine Kennagh; loving great-aunt of Darlene Vignola, Christopher Vignola and his wife Kimberly, and Alana Kennagh; and adoring great-great-aunt of Anthony Vignola.
Josephine was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Charles Sanfilippo; her mother, Cologera Sisino, her sister, Mary Messina; and her brother-in-law, Robert Messina.
Her warmth, love, and zest for life will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
