Josephine Winters, age 78 of Fairmount, GA, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Calhoun Health Care.
Josephine was born on May 28, 1946 in Gordon County, GA, daughter of Pierce Gus Starr and Willie Nell Winters Starr. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by siblings, John Lee “JL” Richardson, Mary Louise Quinn, and Elaine Washington. Josephine was of the Baptist faith and worked for Doyles Truck Stop. She loved arts and crafts, Bingo, loved the outdoors, and adored her grandchildren.
Josephine is survived by: three children, Nellie Burse, Tammy Starr, and Timmy Lee Starr; five grandchildren, Erica Henderson, Terica Henderson, Summer Starr, Autumn Starr, and Victoria Crawford; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Carter and Caliyah Brown; siblings, Gus Starr and Ned Starr; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 12 PM until 3 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
