Joshua "Blank Slate" Thomas Brown, age 42 of Crestline, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at his home. He was born on March 12, 1983, in Mansfield to Karen A. Brown.
Josh will be remembered as the life of the party - a man whose laughter, energy, and charm could light up any room. He had a natural gift for being the center of attention, not out of pride, but out of a deep desire to make those around him smile. Known for his sharp sense of humor and quick wit, Josh brought joy and laughter to every gathering. He was the first to lend a helping hand, no matter the situation, always willing to go the extra mile for a friend, neighbor, or even a stranger in need.
Josh had a passion for cooking, often experimenting in the kitchen and delighting others with his "fancy" dishes - each meal prepared with care and a touch of flair. Above all else, Josh cherished time spent with those he loved most. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or a good meal, he valued every moment with family and friends, leaving behind memories that will forever bring warmth to those who knew him best.
In addition to his mother, Karen, Josh's memories will forever be cherished by his children: Emily Brown of Bellville, Autumn Brown of Mansfield, and Godrich Brown of Mansfield; brothers and sisters: Joe (Kristy) Frost of Ontario, Angie (Eli) Reed of Mansfield, Jenny Wade of Galion, Chris (Sabria) Brown of Shelby, Stephanie Wade of Lexington, and Charolette (Ben) Yoder of Crestline; best friends, Kevin (Jax) Hawkins of Mansfield; father, Charles Wade, Jr. of Mansfield; aunt, Julie Hall of Shelby; and cousins: Jason Flannery of Mansfield, Ray Flannery of Shelby and Isaiah Flannery of Shelby.
Josh was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Brown; grandpa, Charles Wade, Sr.; aunt, Brenda Ray; uncle, Joe Brown; and best friend, Myron Barber.
Services are not planned at this time.
Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield is honored to be assisting the family with the arrangements.
