Joshua “Josh” Evans, son, brother, and friend, passed away on Friday, November 21st. He was born on June 21st, 1999, the first day of Summer. His sense of humor and his “million-dollar” smile brought light, laughter, and a deep love to everyone who knew him. His presence will be greatly missed by many, but especially his family. We are heartbroken by his passing and hope one day to understand the hopelessness, pain, and despair that he endured each day for many years.
Josh was known for his tender heart and his big, memorable presence. He adored his brothers—Marcus and Nick—who meant the world to him. Time spent with them was his greatest joy. Josh also loved traveling with his family, especially going to baseball games, LA Chargers games, and Disneyland. He also enjoyed playing video games, watching sports, shotting guns, fishing, family game night, beating us in poker, and other simple pleasures that brought him comfort and connection. His funny antics “Joshisms” always brought a smile, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.
He is survived by his parents, Doug and Becky Evans; his brothers, Marcus and Nick; and his loyal companion, Zeus the cat—all of whom will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29th, at the Haight Creek Stake Center 1520 S. Fox Point Dr., Kaysville, Utah. A viewing for family and invited friends will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m., where family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Josh’s life. Josh will be interred at the Kaysville City Cemetery, located at 500 E. Crestwood.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Josh Evans Foundation. The money will be used to pay for his funeral expenses and a newly created foundation. As the foundation grows, it will be used to support others with Autism to continue their education. Please Venmo @Becky-Evans-35, @Doug-Evans-30 or any America First Credit Union Branch.
