Joshua Jay Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sisco Funeral Chapel - Springdale on Jul. 17, 2024.
It is with heavy and deeply saddened hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Joshua Braxton Jay, a beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend. Joshua's bright spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to all who knew him. He was taken from us far too soon on Friday, July 12, 2024, leaving behind a void that can never be filled.
Born on May 4, 2004, Joshua was a ray of sunshine from the moment he entered this world. He was the beloved baby of the family. Growing up surrounded by love, Joshua cherished his family and held them close to his heart. His parents, Wendi Cousins and John Jay, provided him with an unwavering support system that helped shape him into the remarkable young man he became. Joshua had a special bond with his three brothers, Jordan, Jarod, and Jacob, and together they were inseparable, always there for each other through thick and thin.
Joshua's love for his family was matched only by his love for his countless friends. His magnetic personality drew people in, and his ability to make everyone feel seen and valued was a true gift. Whether it was through his infectious laughter, his comforting presence, or his witty banter, Joshua had a way of making others feel at ease. He was a true friend, always willing to lend an ear, offer a helping hand, or crack a joke to lighten the mood.
One of Joshua's greatest passions was basketball. He spent hours on the court, playing the game he loved with his friends. His skill, determination, and playful spirit were evident in every game he played. Joshua's dedication to basketball not only brought him personal fulfillment but also strengthened the bonds he shared with his friends.
Joshua was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Mildred Russell and Edna "Junie" Jay.
He is survived by his loving parents, Wendi Cousins and John Jay; his brothers, Jordan, Jarod Cousins, and Jacob Jay; sisters Kayla Ward and Brittany Warren; sisters-in-law Madison Cousins and Shannea Smartt; nieces Chloe and Marley Cousins; nephew Denver Cousins; grandparents Judy and Kenneth Kell, Howard and Patty Bonner, Arthur John Jay; aunts Lisa Coy, Sonya Coger, and Toni Lesniak, Ciarran Adden; uncles Scott and Brian Bonner, Uncle Wes and Aunt Rhonda, Aunt Chantal and Uncle Jim Renfrow, Aunt Yvette and Uncle Scott Pendelton; and a multitude of cousins and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
May he find eternal peace in the embrace of the angels. Though his time with us was far too short, the imprint he left on this world will never fade.
