Mr. Joshua Jide Jegede

Joshua Jide Jegede was born on July 17, 1955, to Joshua and Martha Jegede in Ibadan, Nigeria. He was the second-born child out of their six children. He rested peacefully in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, May 27, 2023, aged 67 years.
Before migrating to the United States, Joshua attended Christ School Ado-Ekiti; he studied for his 'A' Levels at Government College Ibadan and his college education was at The Polytechnic Ibadan, as well as the University of Ibadan.
Joshua had an entrepreneurial spirit. He established a videography business where he specialized in weddings and biographical documentaries. He also worked at United Bank for Africa and Adeoti Farms. His experience at Adeoti Farms sharpened his landscaping skills, which was evident in his residences.
In 1975, Joshua met his lovely wife, 'Lollipop' Funmilola, whom he later married in 1980. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters: Taiwo Griffith, Kehinde Moodie, and Jolaoluwa Hussey. He was a committed husband, as well as a devoted and active father. He ensured that his family was loved and well taken care of. He instilled many values into his daughter's lives and prioritized their education. He was family oriented and believed in spending precious moments together by going on bike rides, taking road trips, going to the park, and taking yearly family vacations. As his children married and moved out of the family home, Joshua continued engaging in recreational activities with his wife. He shared his love of the outdoors by taking her on camping trips in their Airstream, walking in the park, and cruising on his motorcycles.
Joshua retired as a Franchise Business Coach with YUM! Brands, where he worked for over 25 years. Shortly after his retirement, he and his wife relocated to Monroe, GA. In the ten years he lived in Georgia, he became active in many organizations and gave back to the community. He also became more involved in the church and did the Lord's work during this time. As a Praying Fathers, African Christian Fellowship and Marriage Enrichment Atlanta Group member, Joshua imparted his knowledge by teaching leadership classes and mentored young professionals. In addition, he was instrumental in ensuring the integrity of the organization. As a punctual individual, he established time management standards for the organizations. He was a highly respected and valued individual in his communities.
Joshua is survived by his wife: Dr. Funmilola Jegede, his children: Taiwo and Kaseim Griffith, Kehinde and Charles Moodie, Jolaoluwa and Ronald Hussey. He is also survived by many grandchildren: Joshua Moodie, Kaseim Griffith, Josiah Moodie, Kylie Griffith, Kassidy Griffith, Abrielle Hussey, Olivia Hussey, and Kennedy Griffith, his father: Pa J. F. O. Jegede and his siblings: Folake Layode, Kofo Coker, Olakiitan Eseigbe, Akin Jegede, Yinka Abdullah, Gbenga Soroye, Tutu Adefope, Foyeke Akinwumi, Tunde Jegede, and Lani Ntukidem.
We were truly blessed to have Joshua in our lives. He lived a successful and full life of service, joy, love, and dedication. He will surely be missed, but our memories of him and his spirit will continue to be with us all.
