Joshua Leon Jones, known affectionately as "Round" to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at the age of 49, in his hometown of Spartanburg, SC, where he was also born on January 28, 1976. Joshua's life was a testament to the love and spirit he carried within him, touching the lives of all who knew him.
Joshua was the beloved son of Janet Shields and the late Leon Jones. He was a cherished brother to Matthew Miller, Dusty Jones, Amer Jones Powell, and the late Christopher Noel Jones. His life was a reflection of the strong family ties he shared, including the fond memories of his late grandparents, Marjorie Shields, Marie Jones, and Henry Jones, as well as his uncles, Thomas and Jeff Shields. Joshua's family circle was completed by his caring stepmother, Linda Greene, devoted nieces, a nephew and several cousins who will miss him dearly.
Professionally, Joshua dedicated many years to cell tower maintenance, a job that allowed him to contribute to the connectivity that brings people together. His work ethic and commitment to safety left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the industry. Joshua was also a skilled woodworker, a craft that showcased his attention to detail and his ability to create beauty from simplicity.
Joshua's passions extended beyond his professional life. He enjoyed fishing, finding solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. His artistic talent was evident in his drawings, which often captured the essence of his subjects with a loving stroke. Gardening and working in the yard were not just hobbies for Joshua; they were expressions of his nurturing spirit, as he tended to plants with the same care he showed to those around him.
Those who knew Joshua would describe him as loving, spirited, and selfless. He had a unique ability to uplift others, offering a kind word or a helping hand whenever needed. His presence was a source of comfort and joy, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Joshua's life was a beautiful journey that has left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the memories he created. Joshua Leon Jones will be forever remembered as a beacon of light in the lives of those he touched.
