Our beloved Joshua Serrano passed away peacefully on the morning of January 26th, 2022. His journey with us was filled with laughter, curiosity, time spent with friends and family, and an unparalleled love for life.

Joshua was born in the summer of 1995 to Leni and Ken Serrano in Austin, TX. He went to school in south Austin for the entirety of his life, and graduated from Bowie High School as part of the class of 2013. During his time in school, Josh found a passion for the culinary arts, and took pride in his cooking for the rest of his days. Outside of school, Josh played a couple different sports on school teams and recreationally, and was also involved in Boy Scouts, earning his Eagle Scout at a very young age. He met several friends through Scouting and extracurricular, and kept those friendships through his passing.

Josh worked a variety of jobs around Austin including several bars and restaurants. While he worked the door in many of these spots, he was a welcome sight to see by both visitors and members of the industry. Josh also enjoyed the live music scene in Austin, and would regularly listen to both larger acts or smaller local artists around the area.

Josh will be remembered for his smile, his exuberance, his presence, and his loyalty to those he cared for in his life. He will be dearly missed by those that were able to find their way onto his path, and those he surrounded himself with during his time here. He is survived by his parents, Leni & Ken Serrano, his brother, Zachary Serrano as well as his uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Victor & Deixter Serrano, his maternal grandparents, Gonzalo Reyna & Rosa West, his uncle Ron Serrano and his uncle Jimmy Reyna.

Visitation will be from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX 78745. Rosary will be at 7:00PM. Mass will be 10:00AM on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Rd., Austin, 78749. Burial will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery in Bastrop, TX.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in his name to Mission to Mexico, A favorite cause he supported and worked with that his paternal grandmother helped establish through St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
