Joshua D. "Josh" Thiele

INDIANAPOLIS – Joshua D. "Josh" Thiele, 32, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, June 2, 2022.
He was born on September 12, 1989 in Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of John E. and Shari A. (Lemen) Thiele and graduated from Lasher High School in 2008.
Josh was a Telephony Software Engineer. He worked for Ontario Systems, the City of Indianapolis and Genesys. He was very proud to have recently earned his GCP-GC certification.
He was very passionate about music! Josh was a member of the marching band and drumline in high school, taught himself how to play the guitar, as well as how to mix electronic music. He was a DJ/producer known professionally as "thegitdown". Josh loved playing euchre with his grandparents. He also enjoyed playing hockey, golf, and was a lover of animals.
Surviving are his mother, Shari A. Hershey (Scott Hershey) of Fishers; his father, John E. Thiele (Carolyn) of Ft. Myers, FL; his maternal grandparents, Dan and Ella Mae Lemen of Muncie, grandmother Sally Hershey of Birmingham, MI, siblings: David Hershey (wife, Lauren), Julia Peterson (Sebastian Richey), Leah Ross, and Ian Ross (Jenny Austin); nephew, Jordan; his "special buddies", his niece, Ellie Mae Peterson and Lucy (the cat); aunts and uncles: Sandi Brzak (husband, Ed), Jeff Lemen (wife, April), Joan Thiele, Mike Thiele (wife, Lisa), Nancy Mingo (husband, David), Todd Thiele (wife, Irene), Judie Bailey (husband, Brian) and Jill Hoppie; local cousins, Jacob, Chance and Brady and 16 more cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Pat Thiele, David E. Hershey, and one uncle, Mark Thiele.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 at First Baptist Church, 309 E. Adams Street, Muncie, with Betsy Whaley officiating. Cremation will take place following services.
Family and friends may call prior to the funeral service at First Baptist Church, 309 E. Adams Street, Muncie, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Josh later this summer. His family will share that information personally when arrangements are finalized.
