In Celebration and Remembrance of the life of Joshua Lincoln Wright
Joshua Lincoln Wright, born in Somerset, Kentucky to Daniel Wright and the late Sheri Lynn (Nelson) Wright on May 9, 1984, died on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
A veteran of the United States Army, Joshua’s life was one of dedication, service, and unwavering kindness. He served his country from 2004 to 2012, where he stood among the ranks in the 160th SOAR (also known as Night Stalkers) and later, the 2/6th CAV.
While in Alaska serving with the US Army Aviation 2/6th CAV, Joshua's ingenuity was instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency. Additionally, he rewrote the Standard Operating Manuals, a testament to his determination to always strive for excellence.
Beyond his time in the Army, Joshua was a man of depth and compassion, a listening ear to friends and strangers alike. His willingness to engage in conversation revealed his open heart, and his genuine interest in the lives of others endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Joshua was never afraid to take risks or stand up for what he believed in — his courage and determination were sources of inspiration for those around him.
Outside of his service, Joshua's love for automobiles was a testament to his inquisitive nature and passion for learning. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, grandson, cousin, and friend. Josh’s surviving family includes: his father; his brother, Daniel Logan Wright (Michelle); and his nephews, Logan, Nathaniel, and Liam.
Joshua's funeral service will be held at the Stearns First Baptist Church at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 12, 2023. The family will receive friends at the church after 11:00am Saturday. Interment will be after the funeral service and will be in the Angel Cemetery in Stearns.
May he rest in eternal peace.
