Darrell "Dee" Ball II age 61 of Stearns, Kentucky passed from this life on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
He was born on February 7, 1965 to the late Darrell Lee Ball and Bertha (Abbott) Ball. In addition to his parents, Dee is preceded in death by his wife, Sonya Renee (Chitwood) Ball; a brother, Chris Ball; and a brother-in-law, Bob Specht.
Surviving family include his children, Darrell "Trey" Ball (and Amber), Seth Ball (and Jayci Bell), Shatarah Burress (and Brice), and a special son, Deion Chitwood; his grandchildren, Jackson Lee Ball, Layla Reece Ball, Emory June Ball, and Renlee Blake Burress (who is on the way); brothers, James Ball (and Nola), Tim Ball (and Tina), and Jeff Ball (and Martha); sisters, Kim Specht and Karen Gilreath (and Charlie); a special brother, Ronnie Ball Shelley; and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Dee was well known for his musical talent, playing with his brothers in their bands known as JAC'D and Rated R. This talent was not only a gift to him, but one that his children inherited as well. He spent countless hours playing and singing with his them, making memories that they will forever cherish. Dee also enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, watching UK sports, and simply driving down gravel roads. He loved hearing the gravel popping under the tires. Dee was a member of the sons of the American Legion Post 115 of Stearns, KY. He enjoyed nothing more than being with his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In keeping with his wishes, Dee will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Stephens and Rev. Ronnie Ball Shelley officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday after 12:00 noon until service time. Following the service, Dee will be placed alongside his wife at the Pine Knot Cemetery.
